Scar Revision Case 5

This patient in her 60s had fallen leaving a cut above the left side of her lip. She went to an emergency room where they said it will heal on its own and no sutures were placed. As the body healed it pulled up her left upper lip. This led to the appearance you see in the before photo where the left upper lip seems to just blend in with the area below the nose and there is no distinct junction between the red lip and the area above it. Dr. Guy performed an in-office surgical procedure to help reestablish the margin of the lip. Although the area above the lip is still pink as it heals, at rest, her lips look very symmetric and the area is no longer an eye-catcher.
