Scar Revision Case 3

This patient in her late 40s had been attacked by a dog. She was bit on the lip and the animal nearly took off her lower lip. She went to the emergency room where she had her wound closed. Unfortunately, the lip was properly realigned. In the before photo you can see how the middle section between the cuts seems to protrude forward more. That is because the lip was sutured in this position.Dr. Guy did a scar revision to put the lip back to the appropriate spot which you can see in the after photo. We then did several steroid injections help with scar tissue and a laser on the scars below the lip. In the after photo see how much less noticeable her scars are and how when she smiles her lips have a smooth appearance along the entire length vs. the before photo that had a stepwise appearance of her lower lip
