Description
This patient in his early 60s had skin cancer on his nose. This is a very common location to get one. Because the nose skin doesn’t have much elasticity, even smaller defects can be complicated to repair. This patient had his cancer removed by a Mohs’surgeon and was referred to Dr. Guy for closure. He underwent reconstruction with what is called an island pedicle flap. In the after photo, you can see the wound remains a little pink, but the defect is completely closed and with time, the wounds will be almost imperceptible.
