Brow Lift Case 9

Gender
Female
Age
80's

Description

This patient in her 80s had, unfortunately, had a fall and hit the left forehead. This is where the nerve run that helps to raise the eyebrow (and frequently what we treat with Botox). However, the trauma caused her nerve to be crushed which left her with the inability to raise her left eyebrow. Dr. Guy performed both a scar revision and a direct brow lift which involves an incision above the eyebrow. This is ideal for patients with one eyebrow not functioning. The after photo is taken 1 month after surgery and you can see how symmetric her brows are. Although this procedure does not cause the muscle to be able to work again, it helps position the eyebrow in a more natural position. This also helped her vision since the heavy brow was causing the skin to hang over her left eyelid.
