Blepharoplasty Case 14

Gender
Female

Description

This patient in her 60s was bothered by her lower eyelids. On the right she had a different condition that normally seen with lower eyelids, called a festoon. This is essentially redundancy of the eyelid muscle. This is not approached in the same way as a traditional lower eyelid surgery. This requires a direct excision of the redundancy so as not to pull the eyelid down. In the after photo you can see how much improvement she has had. What you may not realize is there is an incision located in the tear trough area. For those with larger festoons, this is an excellent approach to eyelid rejuvenation.
